Miss Katie Owings, Founder & Owner, started a dance academy with a difference. With emphasis on the beauty and soulful style of dance, students tap into their innate passion for movement. At IDA, we believe in treating children like children. We are all about age-appropriate costuming, choreography and music selection. We believe strongly that the art of dance is just that - art. It is through artistic expression, development of performance and technique, as well as self-confidence building that dancers receive a quality dance education. We invest in our staff and hire only degreed or certified instructors who CARE. Our faculty consists of wonderful people who truly love what they do. We are determined to make sure that each student has a "life" experience full of excellent role models, teamwork, creativity, self-confidence building and much more! At IDA, we've devised a class schedule that makes sense given the pressing needs of family, school and other activities. We are sensitive of your time. Every class starts and finishes on time. And, our recitals never last more than 2 hours. We move beyond just the steps. We inspire the soul.
